The registrant of the domain name must be eligible to register the original domain name under AuDA's Policy Rules.

AuDA imposes some reasonable conditions on the sale of domain names in the .au space, as follows.

Registrants can not :

• register a domain name for the sole purpose of onselling or transfer to another party
• transfer their domain name in the first 6 months following initial registration (doesn't apply to renewed or previously-transferred domain names)

Registrants can :

• After 6 months of ownership, transfer domain ownership to another party (using a standard registrar transfer process)
• Confidentially disclose to auDA the sale method and price achieved (voluntarily)
